Short answer: for consulting work, choose Whyston. Gamma is excellent at quick, visual presentations for a general audience, but it does not document a consulting storyline, action titles, consulting charts or number-level provenance. Whyston is built for exactly those, and exports native PowerPoint.
Disclosure: Whyston publishes this page. Facts about Gamma come from Gamma's own website and documentation (linked below), reviewed in August and October 2026.

Where Whyston pulls ahead
- The argument, not just the pages. Whyston writes the SCQA storyline and an action title for every slide; Gamma lays out the content you give it.
- Numbers a partner can check. Every Whyston figure is labelled documented, derived or assumption, with a Figures and Assumptions page at the end.
- Consulting exhibits. Native waterfalls, Gantt roadmaps and annotated charts, which Gamma's documentation does not list.
- A full slide editor. Move, resize and restyle every shape, text box and chart; smart layouts change a slide's look and feel in one click.
- PowerPoint as the destination. Native shapes and charts plus a PowerPoint add-in; Gamma's help centre notes that some design effects are simplified on PowerPoint export.

When Gamma may be enough
- A quick, visual internal presentation with no source material to cite.
- Documents, web pages or social posts from the same tool.
Choose Whyston if
- The deck comes from a data room, a financial model, research or interview notes.
- A partner, a board or an investment committee will ask where each number came from.
- You need the storyline and the action titles written, not only the slides.
- The team will keep working in PowerPoint after the first draft.
